Experienced horseback riders and novices alike will thrill to the adventures that naturally ensue while moving cattle over 12,000 acres. From bulls busting down fences, to calves squirting through open fence holes and cows and heifers determined to challenge you for the right of way...it's all the thrill you could ask for; but wait...there's more! You get the adrenaline rush of your life all while enjoying some of the most beautiful country imaginable. The Beartooth Mountains rise snow capped and verdant in the distance, wildlife abounds at every turn and sparkling mountain streams serenade you along the trail.
Feelin' "just a little rusty" in the saddle? We want to make your horseback riding and cattle drive experience one to remember, and safety comes first! Fear not, our trusty, talented wrangle crew will match you with the right horse and make sure you master the basic horseback riding skills in the corrals before tackling the trails and the pace of the cattle drive.
To ensure you really get the most out of your cattle drive experience, the Lazy E-L carefully monitors your progress with your horse during the day. As your skill improves, you may want to try a different horse. We'll be there to help you succeed at the next level. Feel like throwin' a loop or two? We've got you covered there as well. We run 2,000 to 3,000 yearlings and 150+ cow/calf pairs during the spring and summer months. We work cattle every day and you are invited to join us. Dig in, get yer hands dirty, heck, get yer HAT dirty cuz around here, a clean hat means no cattle!
The Lazy E-L Ranch is a cattle ranch that implements the practice of Holistic Resource Management, a technique developed by Allan Savory. We specialize in custom grazing programs for off-ranch cattle owners.
The Lazy E-L Ranch's primary concern is the health of the land. The crew works diligently to maintain it as a sustainable resource.
