I’m Aaron Kampfe, part of the fourth generation of the Mackay family and Lazy EL Ranch. Since 1995, I’ve been in the adventure travel business and have hosted travelers around the world- from trekking in the Himalayas to biking in Europe to sea kayaking in Mexico- but nothing gives me more joy than hosting folks on my family’s ranch. The Lazy EL Ranch is truly a unique experience and an adventure of a lifetime.

Our standard $2350 package includes the following:

•6 nights lodging at the Lazy EL Ranch in historic cabins
•Private access to all 12,000 acres where you can horseback ride, walk, hike, and fish
•Maximum of thirteen guests per week
•All meals on the ranch
•Daily riding, 3-4 hours per ride in the morning plus one full-day ride into the Beartooth Mountains Choice of daily activities including white water rafting, rodeo in Cody Wyoming, hike in the Beartooth Wilderness, or Beartooth downhill Bike Tour. You can substitute horseback riding for other activities.
•All ground transportation throughout the week. We pick you up and drop you off at the Billings or Cody airport or area hotel. If you prefer, you can rent a car or bring your own vehicle to the ranch.
•We’ll have two staff members/hosts on site plus our wranglers- Steve and Debbie.
•All taxes

After 21 years of cookhouse steaks and West Rosebud rides, we turn over the reins to my brother Aaron and take off our hats with a hearty 'thank you, pard.'

For those of you who made our bunks your second home, it was an honor to ride with you. Gerald and I thank you for fantastic memories and truly joyous times.

With 11 years of having the reins, Gerald and I aren't quite ready to hang up our spurs.  For the last year, we've been laying groundwork for another place and plan to continue what we started, bringing together cowboying and sharing this way of life.  As our adventure unfolds, we will send news and keep the coffee on, expecting our friends to come up a new dirt road.
